MRM2025

December 8-13, 2025

MRM (Materials Research Meeting) is an interdisciplinary international meeting established as a platform for high-level and global discussions. The first MRM was held in December 2019 in Yokohama, attracting over 1,800 participants from around the world. The second MRM took place in December 2021 in Yokohama in a hybrid format, with more than 1,600 participants. The third MRM, held as a Grand Meeting in December 2023 in Kyoto, was conducted in person and drew over 2,000 participants. To further develop this platform, the 4th MRM, MRM2025, will be held in December 2025 in Yokohama to pioneer new fields of materials research and foster connections with new research groups.

MRM2025 aims to provide a forum for discussing the latest advancements and applications in cutting-edge materials science to address global environmental challenges, including climate change, and to work toward the realization of a sustainable society. Climate change poses wide-ranging impacts not only on the environment but also on society, the economy, human health, human rights, and inequality. Addressing these challenges requires collaborative efforts across diverse fields, including resource circulation, sustainable consumption, biodiversity conservation, and the promotion of social justice.

MRM2025 will bring together researchers from materials science and related fields to share ideas for the practical application of innovative materials and processes, exploring strategic developments for next-generation materials research. Additionally, opportunities will be actively provided for young researchers to present and discuss their work, aiming to foster networking and lay the foundation for collaborative research with synergistic effects. Renowned scientists will be invited to participate, and through diverse topics, the conference seeks to deepen the contributions of materials science toward achieving sustainability. We hope this event will serve as a meaningful platform for exchange and collaboration for all participants interested in materials research.
