E-MRS and FEMS sign a Memorandum of Understanding

The European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) and the Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration and promote excellence in materials science and engineering across Europe. The agreement is  aiming to foster closer interaction between the two organizations.

Under this MoU, E-MRS and FEMS will co-organize annual joint symposia — the “E-MRS–FEMS Joint Symposium” — held alternately at FEMS’s EUROMAT conferences and E-MRS Spring Meetings. The partnership also encourages coordinated activities, shared communications, and enhanced opportunities for networking among their members.

By combining their efforts, E-MRS and FEMS seek to expand their global reach, support the growth of the European materials community, and advance research and innovation in the field.

Giuseppina Padeletti, E-MRS President stated:

"I am really pleased that an agreement between EMRS and FEMS has been signed. The Materials sector in the framework of scientific research is of fundamental and transversal importance to almost all sectors of applied research and a synergy between EMRS and FEMS  was desirable to speak in Europe with one voice and we will work together to bring many benefits to the Materials Science sector."
