In Memoriam, Professor Hermann Grimmeiss

We recently learned of the passing of Hermann Grimmeiss at the age of 95. He served as President of E-MRS from 2003 to 2006. Hermann Grimmeiss was a very influential President of E-MRS, bringing to the Society the smart light of his position as member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, involved in awarding the Nobel Prize in Physics, and as a Fellow of the American Physical Society. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. 

His leadership and dedication during his time as President contributed to the development of E-MRS and left a lasting legacy within our community. His contributions to E-MRS and to the field of materials science will be remembered with great respect. Our thoughts are with all those who knew and worked with him.
