Materials for Electronics, Optoelectronics and Sensing
D8th E-MRS & MRS-K bilateral symposium “X-tronics”: optoelectronic and bioelectronic - from materials to devices
This symposium follows a series of joint E-MRS and MRS-Korea. The symposium aims to strengthen the collaboration between Korean and European researchers and to discuss the latest developments, future trends, and challenges in the field of Optoelectronic and Bioelectronic.
Scope:
The symposium intends to establish interdisciplinary forum of X-tronics (electronic, ionic, optoelectronic, bioelectronic, neuroelectronic) that will bring together scientists involved in the material synthesis, processing characterization, device integration and theoretical modelling of various aspects optoelectronic and bioelectronic devices. The symposium aims not only to initiate and to strengthen the collaboration between Korean and European researchers but also to discuss the latest developments, future trends, and challenges. Novel approaches to synthesize the materials (2D inorganic materials, perovskite, quantum dots, transition metal dichalcogenides, transition metal carbide, organic semiconducting materials,…), the developed techniques for the characterization of materials and their nanocomposites (e.g., machine learning, Operando techniques), and more importantly the discussion of their chemistry and physics will be covered in this symposium. Of particular focus will be the applications of these materials in the fields of chemical/biochemical sensing, biomedicine, field‐effect transistors, photodetectors, organic light‐emitting diodes, solar cells, and neuromorphic devices. The symposium is expected to inspire the novel research directions and promote the widespread applications of new materials in the next-generation optoelectronics and bioelectronics.
