Biomaterials & Biointerfaces
BBAdvanced Materials and Bioelectronic Technologies for Next-Generation Healthcare
Advances in materials science, bioelectronics and microfabrication play a pivotal role in how we diagnose, monitor, and treat diseases. This symposium focuses on bioelectronics, microfluidics, and microengineered physiological models to develop new frontiers in sensing, therapeutic intervention, and regenerative medicine.
Scope:
This symposium will explore advances in next-generation materials for healthcare, smart interfaces, and bioelectronics, with a strong focus on translational and clinically relevant technologies.
We will address the most recent progress in smart and responsive materials, micro/nano-fabrication approaches, bioelectronics, and engineered interfaces that enable seamless integration with biological systems. These developments are driving the emergence of innovative biomedical tools, including implantable and wearable biosensing platforms, with high potential for clinical translation.
The symposium will also cover microfluidics, lab-on-chip and organ-on-chip platforms, as well as advanced materials for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, highlighting their role in disease modelling, diagnostics and personalised therapies.
We hope to explore these domains in the context of discovery, development, and design strategies of advanced materials, engineered for enhanced biocompatibility, tailored functionality, and improved interaction with biological environments.
We welcome contributions from both established experts and early-career researchers in chemistry, materials science, bioelectronics, engineering, chemistry, physics, and medicine. By bringing together diverse scientific communities, the symposium aims to foster interdisciplinary exchange and to accelerate the translation of materials innovations into impactful healthcare technologies.
