Organic Light-Emitting Materials and Devices for Optoelectronic Applications

This symposium presents the latest research in organic light-emitting materials and their optoelectronic applications. It covers all aspects from material synthesis to the fabrication and characterization of devices. We also strive for a balance between chemistry of dyes, photophysics, material science and device physics.

Scope:

Organic light-emitting materials represent a versatile and rapidly evolving class of materials that enable tunable optical, electrical, and photophysical properties through molecular design, supramolecular organization, and device architecture. These unique features have already led to transformative applications in optoelectronics, most notably in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), and are opening new avenues for other emerging technologies such as organic semiconductor lasers, organic light-emitting transistors, and organic polaritonic light-emitting devices. In addition to their applications, organic emitters provide a rich platform to study excitonic processes and strong light–matter coupling.

This symposium will focus on recent advances in organic light-emitting materials, emphasizing material design, synthesis, processing, and structure–property relationships. Topics will include novel small molecules and polymers; control of aggregation and molecular orientation; photophysical characterization; and stability and degradation mechanisms. Material aspects relevant to OLEDs, organic lasers, organic light-emitting transistors, and polaritonic devices will be highlighted, with selected contributions addressing how material properties translate into device performance and underlying physical mechanisms.

The symposium will bring together researchers from academia and industry working on organic light-emitting materials and their optoelectronic applications. By combining experimental and theoretical approaches, it will foster interdisciplinary discussions and encourage the exchange of ideas across chemistry, physics, and materials science. Overall, the symposium aims to strengthen the community around organic light-emitting materials and to stimulate new research directions toward next-generation organic optoelectronic and polaritonic technologies.

Hot topics to be covered by the symposium:

  • Thermally-activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) and phosphorescent OLED materials
  • Hyperphosphorescent and hyperfluorescent OLEDs
  • Strong coupling and organic polaritonic emission
  • Toward organic CW lasing and current injection organic laser diodes
  • Enhancement of the light-outcoupling efficiency
  • Near-infrared OLED and organic laser emitters
  • Triplet management in organic lasers
  • Applications in displays, lighting, optical communication and biomedicine
  • Novel organic electroluminescent device architectures
  • Radical-based OLEDs
