Materials for Energy & Sustainability
HPhotocatalytic and Photoelectrochemical Generation of Solar Fuels and Value-Added Chemicals
This symposium provides an international platform to present and discuss the latest research and prospective activities in photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical generation of value-added chemicals and solar fuels, and will address the latest advances in materials, reaction engineering, and reactor concepts for this purpose.
Scope:
Photocatalysis and photoelectrochemistry play an important role in a diverse range of applications including emerging technologies related to clean energy, such as water splitting, CO2 reduction, nitrogen fixation, and organic synthesis. Besides the generation of solar fuels for the storage of solar energy, research on photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical reactions has expanded in recent years to the generation of added-value chemical vie e.g. biomass upgrading, waste conversion, or cascade reactions with other catalytic processes. Therefore, this symposium provides an international platform to present and discuss the latest research and prospective activities in photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical generation of value-added chemicals and solar fuels, and will address the latest advances in materials, reaction engineering, and reactor concepts for this purpose. It will also cover aspects of material and reactor design, technoeconomic analyses, theory, and upscaling approaches.
This symposium brings together top leaders in science and technology, interested newcomers and worldwide experts; and it will further expand the interest and progress in this area.
Hot topics to be covered by the symposium:
- Upgrading of biomass and platform chemicals
- Waste conversion to added-value chemicals
- Cascade reactions with photocatalysis/photoelectrochemistry
- Photocatalytic organic synthesis
- Novel reaction schemes and tailored reactors
- Water splitting
- CO2 and N2 reduction
- Novel absorbers and catalysts
- Photocharging for dark conversion reactions
- Characterization & In Situ/Operando techniques of photocatalysts and photoelectrodes
- Computational & Theoretical investigation
