Synthesis, Physical Properties and Applications of Advanced Nanocrystalline Materials

The symposium seeks to establish itself as a premier international forum dedicated to the synthesis structural aspects, physical properties - including magnetic, luminescent, and electrical - and potential applications of advanced nanocrystalline materials.

Scope:

Advanced Nanocrystalline materials have recently attracted significant attention, due to their significant technological applications in different fields including energy, environment, sensor, and biomedical field. These materials are highly desirable technological materials due to the variation in their physical properties compared to their bulk counterparts. Advanced inorganic nanocrystals exhibit size-, composition- and shape-tunable physical properties. Therefore, the efficiency of nanocrystalline materials for technological applications can be controlled by various factors including particle size, morphology, capping, surfactant, doping, and nanomorphology structure, etc. Moreover, a nanocrystalline material with the desired physical characteristics for a particular technological application can be created using crystal engineering and controlled synthesis/preparation techniques.

Novel nanocrystal materials, such as magnetic nanocrystals, semiconductor quantum dots, plasmonic metal nanostructures, one-dimensional nanostructures (nanotubes, nanoribbons, nanowires, etc.), and two-dimensional nanostructures (graphene, MXenes, oxides, nitrides, and carbides, etc.), offer exceptional opportunities for the investigation of fascinating physical phenomena.

This symposium will focus on the fundamental and applied features including process-structure-property relationship of numerous advanced nanocrystalline materials exhibiting efficient magnetic, luminescent, optical, electrical, dielectric, thermoelectric, piezoelectric and other physical characteristics. This symposium along with interdisciplinary topics pertaining to physics, chemistry, materials science, and related fields, will bring together a diverse group of experts across academia, international laboratories and industry to discuss the recent advances in theory, synthesis, characterizations, devices as well as the opportunities and challenges in the development and utilization of advanced nanocrystalline materials.
