Abstract submission:

New deadline: The deadline to submit an abstract is: January 26, 2024 (23:59, Paris) In fairness to all potentail authors, late abstracts will not be accepted.

Papers will be selected by the scientific committee of each symposium. Authors will be notified of acceptance and mode of presentation by March 6 at the latest.

Abstract length: Web submissions are limited to 3.000 characters (including spaces, only plain text, no figures, no formulae...).

Multiple submissions is allowed. There is no fee for submission of an abstract.

Submitting abstracts via the E-MRS website is easy and convenient.

  1. Log in to your submitter account available HERE or create a new one;
  2. Follow the easy step-by-step instructions on the template, making sure that complete mailing address information is included for the presenting and contact authors.

After submitting your abstract, please use your Control ID number in all communications with E-MRS. Because major revisions may affect a symposium organizer’s decision to accept your abstract, please review it carefully before submission.

The online submission center enables to save an abstract as a draft and submit it later on. Authors are able to revise their abstracts up to and including the submission deadline of January 26.

Abstract submission is mandatory. Contributions saved as draft only will not be considered in the selection process. Papers will be selected by the scientific committee of each symposium.

Oral presentation:

Duration of oral presentation, including discussion, depends on symposium organisers but recommendations are:

  • 45 minutes for plenary talks,
  • 30 minutes for invited talks,

The standard audio-visual package in the session room consists of:

  • LCD projector;
  • Laptop with Microsoft office Pack (including powerpoint);
  • Remote control including laser pointer;
  • Microphone in the largest auditorium.

You can either use your own laptop or put your presentation (widescreen format) on a memory stick and use the computer at your disposal in the room.

Poster presentation:

The viewable size of the poster board is: vertical 1.20 m and horizontal 0.90 m. Please prepare your poster in A0 format (841 x 1189 mm). The boards are full white. Please use tape. Pins are not allowed! Attendees can preview their posters the morning before the formal presentation.

Authors need to be present at their posters for discussion with attendees during the session. Subsequently, it is each author's responsibility to remove his/her poster immediately at the end of the session. E-MRS assumes no responsibility for posters left up after this time.

GOOD TO KNOW: a printing office located in the main entrance welcomes you on site and gives you the opportunity to print your poster in one hour at special cost (conference badge required).
